Default hose issue attempting to install boost gauge

Hello all I just purchased an 06 gt mtx convertible. I am new to this platform and turbo cars. I was attempting to install a boost gauge today following instructions I found here. I ran into an issue, it appears that the hose was tampered with by a previous owner tapping into it or doing a cheap repair. I'm afraid to peel off the silver stuff to see underneath. Should I just buy a new hose and does anybody have a part number or a name of the hose?Attachment 12139

But we (you and I ) should know that continuing to post in this thread will mostly now keep it from being deleted. But why do I think you knew that!
