Default Codes

Just bought my 03 turbo two days ago. So far, I love it! The check engine light just came on and I got the codes p0335,p0340,p0344.I know what they are. I'm pretty short on money right now. My question is :is it ok to drive with these codes showing for a couple of weeks?

I would suggest unplugging the sensors, make sure good contacts, and then put them back on. Make sure the wirings is good and not rubbing against the motor somewhere. Reset the engine trouble codes with the OBDII Scan Tool and see if they come back again. Wouldn't cost anything to do that.

Did all of these engine trouble codes come up at the same time?

I would suggest confirming you have adequate oil pressure before driving it anywhere. Did you check the oil level? Do you have a friend that has a OBDII Scan Tool so you can reset the engine trouble codes?

I would suggest that you check to see if the Crankshaft Sensor, Cam sensor or Oil Pressure sensor is shorting to ground effecting your PCM. You might want to check the wires on all three sensors to see if they are rubbing against the motor or melting together. If all looks good then you might need to have your PCM checked out.

The most important goal here is to make sure you have adequate oil pressure. Its possible that someone told the previous owner that sold the PT Cruiser to you that it needed a PCM and going to cost $$$$$ so the previous owner decided to sell it instead.
