Default False error codes

My 2004 turbo pt is throwing false error codes. I've had everything from all dashboard things stop working to backfiring happening and once I reset computer - it runs like a beast...until the next code(s) shows up. I'm not sure what could be causing this but am hoping it is some sort of sensor instead of the whole computer needing replaced. Any feedback on what it might be would be greatly appreciated as I'm lost!

I would suggest checking your battery and battery cables. Make sure the battery cables are clean and making good contact. The PT Cruisers are very sensitive to voltage drops.
If battery voltage is good and cables are good then have a battery load test done.
You also might want to introduce yourself to the forum so others can get to know you and details about your PT Cruiser.

Agree w/Steve. Problem is electrical. PTs do not behave well with low voltages - either from weak battery or connections.

Thank you for the advice and your time. I haven't had a chance to act on the advice yet but appreciate having a place to start ...and that it might not be the cpm is great news!

I would also suggest checking the battery fluid levels. On one of my PT Cruisers I check it every two months and fill as necessary.
