Default Check engine light

hello, I'm kinda new at this. I have a 2007 pt turbo, bought used (of course) no big problems (that I know of) except check engine light blinks when I've been idling too long. If I put it in neutral doesn't seem to happen. Really don't want to take it to the dealer, know what I mean? Thanks

Blinking Check engine light is bad.
Go to an AdvanceAuto, or Auto Zone, etc, and have them read the error code, or get it yourself
How to retrieve fault codes.

When the check engine light flashes, it means there is a severe drivability problem with your PT Cruiser.

For example, you leave your gas cap off or your cam sensor were to fail, the engine light would come on solid.
However, if you had a single or multiple misfire which could lead to engine damage or damage the catalyst converter if you were to continue driving it. The light would come on and flash and continue flashing.

Never drive or allow the engine to run with a flashing check engine light. Always pull over and shut it off. See if it stops flashing when you start it up but you need to fix it immediately.

How long as it been since you replaced spark plugs and spark plug wires?

Just had tuneup and spark plugs/wires changed last month. Have little over 91000 miles. When the light has flashed before, I've driven on and it goes off, and it only happens when I idle a little longer, except when I idle in neutral.

Was the check engine light blinking before or after you had the spark plugs and spark plug wires replaced?

Both, that's why I ended at the dealer having tuneup and spark plugs changed, but it's still doing it...

Using the key dance won't always show stored codes. You need to take it somewhere like Autozone or somewhere like that that reads codes for free.

When is last time plugs and wires were changed? That's an excellent start.
