In case you don't know, Tuner Transformation is a make over show on Speed Channel, geared toward the sports compact crowd. On today's installment they picked a guy with a 2004 Dodge SRT-4 and transformed it with a $10,000 budget. Since this car has the same engine as our turbo PTs I found it very interesting.
$10Gs got them a whole new turbo from AGP Turbos, including new turbo, intercooler, 3" turbo back exhaust, fuel delivery system, etc. Plus a set of 18" wheels/tires, stainless steel fully adjustable coilovers and a two tier rear wing. Killer part was they got 372HP at the front wheels! On pump gas!!! Pretty darn cool........now I want one for my PT!! |

saw the same episode--this car was nicely done this time--sometimes they get outta control...when i heard 372 hp @ the wheels, i got on my knees and testified. mercy!! mopar kw coil over set up--woof! nice change that they concentrated on hp and didn't turn it into a rice-style cr@pwagon. still twitching about all that hp....

...and when I caught a quick glimpse of the dyno sheet it looked like 340-something #'s of torque!. I wonder how long that tranny will hold up to that kind of power. That AGP setup really turned uip the wick on that car.

The qwner posted on the SRT forums that he has replaced his axels and put in solid motor mounts and filled tranny mounts. Anyone in Arizona want to hit up AGP Turbo and see what they can do for the PT.

Yeah I saw it too! They also said that was un-tuned! With some dyno tuning that AFC might be able to make it reach 400whp and over 400ft/lbs. I have spent some cash getting my Accord to the point it is now (mid 13s) but everytime I see or read something new about that SRT, I wonder what I am doing with my Honda! I cant think of a good reason not to get an SRT4!

I'm sure AGP could do much the same for the PT.....it's the same engine after all! And to think that SRT-4 started life as a $20k car, compared to a PT GT sticker price well above that. Then again, you can deal on PT's, I'm not so sure about the SRT-4s!

Hell, I would take leave from here in NJ to volunteer my 03 GT for a free upgrade like that.
