Default 1st run at track, beat gt mustang

I took my 03 gt to the track for the first time since i bought it about 3 mos. ago to see how she does stock. I took the rear seats out and the spare off. Also took out the silencers in air box. Oh yeah my gt is an autostick. I ran 3 runs, the 1st 1/4 et was 15.29 beating a slightly modded gt mustang, was very impressed so was pony driver, actually i think more upset than anything..ha ha.. 2nd and 3rd runs were both at 15.3. the last run i took out the paper air filter element and ran with no air filter, made no difference in et.. oh well still impressed shouldn't be too hard to get her into the 14's..........love my cruiser

Not taking anything away from anybody, but how in the hel- can you beat a 5.0 Mustang. Quite honesty the driver must have been a retard. My opinon.

Why do you think the crowd was laughing?

Power ratings of the SN95 GT's & Cobra's

Year Displacement Valve train HP Torque
1994-95 5.0 OHV 215 @ 4200 285 @ 3400
5.0 OHV 240 @ 4800 285 @ 4000

Then to this, you factor in driver/ vehicle weight /RT/ whether or not the car is heat soaked/ blah/ blah/ and experience. As you know bench racing don't mean crap at the drag strip.

In doing a little research i found that gt mustangs from 85 to late 90's usually ran 1/4 mile et's only from the high 14's to mid or high 15's, so beating the gt's is definitely a heads up race and dependent on the driver. Quite impressive for the pt considering it only has half the cubes and weighs nearly the same..
