With the use of the synthetic, has anybody notice any leaks around the cam seal nearest to the firewall? I notice a bit of oil sitting at the base of the half moon and none on the ground. Is it normal? or I have a bad seal? If I take it into the dealer, I know they will tell me to switch back to dinosaure oil to stop the leak because synthetic is much thinner in comparison. I thought leak only happen when you have a older vehicle and switch from dino to syn.

No leaks here and I changed to synthetic oil and the filter the moment I got home after taking delivery. The leak you speak of on older vehicles is because the synthetic oil has a better additive package and will clean away any dino deposits that were on the seals that were helping/masking any leaks or seal failures. Synthetic oil used to be known to swell the seals, but now car and aftermarket manufacturers/suppliers have switched to new and better materials and that problem is in the past. I can't see why anybody would tell you to switch back to dino oil without fixing what is really wrong in the first place. Afterall, many new cars now come with synthetic oil as factory fill.

I use and I reccommend Mobl 1. I get a tenth better MPG, smoother running engine, easier starting in the morning, and I think I get better protection on the turbo. No leaks and using 10W30 I dont burn it at all. Only down side is cost at about $3.90 a quart at Costco in a six pack. BTW, with the correct Mobil 1 filter it takes 5 1/2 quarts.
