i would stick with dino oil for the first oil change, just so everything can be properly lubricated. then at 6K, switch to mobil 1, i use it every time, i even use a mobil 1 filter.

Ferrari, Porsche, and many other expensive makes come from the factory with Mobil One already installed. Using crappy oil for the first oil change will not benefit your new high tech engine one bit.
Personally, I put in synthetic at 1,500. That's about all the crud and carbon from the funky oil that I could stand. (Mobil guarantees no variance from spec in 100,000 mi.)[8)] |

The decision to go with the synthetic is a good decision. But, you will also have other decisions to consider with this and future oil changes...many of which have already been discussed.
1) Oil Filters...for every person on this forum you might get differing opinions. If you are going to be spending $20.00 for oil, do not scrimp on the filter. Investigate which filter is going to be good for your application and driving conditions. 2) Oil Change schedule...this one has been heavily discussed. Do a search for the topic. Opinions by everyone are important, but you have to be the one to make the decision as to what works for you, your car, the driving conditions, finances, etc. Many people, me included, maintain the standard oil change schedule. |

With the use of the synthetic, has anybody notice any leaks around the cam seal nearest to the firewall? I notice a bit of oil sitting at the base of the half moon and none on the ground. Is it normal? or I have a bad seal? If I take it into the dealer, I know they will tell me to switch back to dinosaure oil to stop the leak because synthetic is much thinner in comparison. I thought leak only happen when you have a older vehicle and switch from dino to syn.
