Is there a way to test the sensor with a volt meter?

PWM Modulation
Looks Chinese to me.... My question is if the coolant temperature sensor was bad, would that cause the fan NOT to come on even if the AC was on? Wouldn't that also cause a check engine light to come on for that sensor?

Can you post the part number and brand name for the radiator fan you purchased. I would like to see if we can get the specifications for that radiator fan.

The link below mentions checking the sensor resistance with a digital ohmmeter. In order to check your coolant temperature sensor we would need the table of ECT resistance for a certain temperature for that sensor.

FIXED! It was exactly this. $16 god damn sensor. Like you or some one else said, my original fan probably worked. One messed up thing is that I bought an after market OEM replacement from AM--Autoparts for $380. When I hooked it up with the new sensor it started making a buzzing sound on my throttle body. Sending that thing back. The used Mercedes motor works so far. Going to drive it around for a bit.

Thanks you to everyone who put up with my ramblings!

Did you ever measure pin #2?

To control radiator fan operation, the PCM looks at inputs from:

Engine coolant temperature
A/C pressure transducer
Ambient temperature
Vehicle speed
Transmission oil temperature (automatic transmission only)

We need to verify that all these components are operating properly.

First thing I would check is the ECT and the wiring going to it.

I am happy you found the problem. Happy Cruising
