Default 2003 PT Cruiser GT Rad fan update....

Alright, 3 fans not working. Original, used from Mercedes and now a brand new fan are not working. Does the computer need to be reset or something? Also, at this point, would it be the PCM that is bad? ANY other year I would not be having this problem... /facepalm

So, connection was slightly loose. Snapped in and reset the computer. Now the check engine light is OFF and the fan still does not come on... Turned on the AC, nothing. Let it idle and warm up past middle, nothing. This thing is driving me insane...

Warm it up turn the air on and check for voltage on the computer side of the wiring harness connector,
Even if you get the 12 volts to run the fan the connector could be loose at the pins connector causing the fan not to run.

Did you check the coolant temperature sensor and the wiring going to it?

Did you ever measure pin #2?

Pin 2 has a constant 12.3 volts on or off.

Pin 3 has 0 volts car off. 0.43 volts with key on and 13.xx when the car is running.

Pin 4 has 0.01 when the car is off/on and when it is running it is getting 0.02-0.03.

Before we start looking at the PCM we need to look at the inputs that it receives to control the radiator fan operation.

To control radiator fan operation, the PCM looks at inputs from:

Engine coolant temperature
A/C pressure transducer
Ambient temperature
Vehicle speed
Transmission oil temperature (automatic transmission only)

We need to verify that all these components are operating properly.

First thing I would check is the ECT and the wiring going to it.

If just one of those things is not working, the fan will not run at all? Also, I don't think it should matter, but I have not actually installed it yet. I just connected it to the car and let the AC run and the car warm up. Fan was up right.

I have helped members get their radiator fan going with the A/C going and some of them has a disconnected or the A/C connector was broken off when a mechanic was working on something else close by the A/C and there was no communication between the A/C and the PCM. So the answer is yes it does matter.

I think Steve mid read. As long as you have the fan pluged in. It souls not matter. Car don't know what the orientation of the part. I can't say about wether or not if one of those componets mentioned is bad wether it will or won't run. Or if it will partially run.
