Default 2003 Turbo Production #'s

Are they rare yet? In case anyone else is interested, I couldn't find any specifics anywhere on the net. So I contacted DC. After 3-weeks I get this reply.

Vehicle Description: 2003 CHRYSLER PT CRUISER GT TURBO 4-DOOR HATCHBACK

According to our records, there were 22,808 CHRYSLER PT CRUISER GT TURBO units built for the 2003 model year Thank you for contacting Chrysler Customer Care. Please contact us back if you need further assistance. You can also look for updates on our website Chrysler - Cars & Minivans - Official Chrysler Vehicles. Have a good day! Shawn Chat team Chrysler Customer Care

Seems pretty low to me

I'm guessing that includes the 1800+ Dream Cruisers that year?

It might, but I really don't know. They (via DC chat) had to refer my question to their "technical department". Maybe ask them and wait 3-weeks?

Pretty rare nonetheless, considering a production run of 1.4 million vehicles !

According to Allpar.net, here's the break down on the Dream Cruisers:

2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser - Dream Cruiser Series 1
Production started in January and was limited to 7500 copies in North America.

2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser - Dream Cruiser Series 2
The Chrysler PT Dream Cruiser Series 2 began production in January 2003. Production was limited to 7,500 units for North American markets and 2,000 units for international markets, where the vehicle is called "Chrysler PT Street Cruiser Series 2." (It's been reported on various internet sites that not all 7,500 DC2's were built due to dealer complaints over the paint color)

2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser - Dream Cruiser Series 3
Production will be limited to 1,300 units for North American markets.

2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser - Dream Cruiser Series 4
Began production August 2004. For North American markets, each vehicle has a reserved, sequenced Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). For international markets, the vehicle is called "Chrysler PT Street Cruiser Series 4." No production number given.

2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser - Dream Cruiser Series 5
Chrysler limited production of its 14th factory-customized PT Cruiser to 1,750 units for the 2009 model year.

^^^^^^Its a good starting point of production information!!!

Allpar: Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth, Jeep (etc) cars, minivans, trucks

I would compare other sources of production information compare them and then do an average guess.

I am on that forum and at one time found inaccurate things often over the years and Mike use to get a stream of PM's from me correcting them. I am not Nitro on that forum so don't look.

off-topic: That allpar forum is SO effed-up, with their multiple animated banner ad servers running in parallel, spewing out ads from every corner. That sort of ad overkill effectively sours me on a site for all eternity...

rockandroller Ya I know what you mean.

Most of the time anymore (very seldom this year) I go there to read and sometimes answer questions from members that ask the same questions here on this forum. They just don't know it is me.

You would be surprised how many there are.
