I have the 180te model. s1 IS the best bang for the buck. Mine has stock exaust, and intake. In CA you cant get anything better than 91 gas. As for better gas mileage with s1,In my opinion FORGET it. Your Mom will be on the go pedal to often. The smile on her face my be worth it.

You know this got me thinking. Will the transaxle be able to take the extra HP? I dont know the diffrence between the autostick and the standard auto tranny...I dont know. Just wondering.

Hey guys, I've been out of town for almost a week so wasn't able to do any posting.

l337raceryo, I have the 180HP Turbo Lite mated to the only tranny you can get with it...the plain ol' automatic (no autostick). Adding S1 gives you almost a 60HP increase - 1/3 more power - for just over $300 and you can install it yourself in 30 minutes including putting away your tools and doing the quick learn procedure on the tranny. You could add one of the super cool intake setups that Adam is selling for around the same money, but it won't get you the jump in HP Stage 1 will. You could spend a lot more on a really cool exhaust, but it won't come close to giving you 60 extra ponies.

You've taken out the silencers in the stock airbox, maybe you could add the BrandX intake pipe for about $100 or so.....but you won't come anywhere near the increase you'll get with Stage 1.

As for differences in the basic auto trans and the autostick, I believe it's just a little bit of programming and the extra slots......don't quote me on that just yet, but I have a VERY reliable source (he wrenches these trannies for a living!) so I'll report back as soon as I know something definitive.

the physical transmissions are the same just the shifter selector is different and probably some computer junk to go along with it

Right on Rally.
The auto trans is the same one used in the old Chry 300 and other models. Autostick is just an electronic override to allow you some choices in which gear you are in.

Shure wish we could get a true positrack for this tranny![8)]
