Ever try the open palm/hand method for the 2nd-to-3rd shift? Just push it into 3rd and let the shifter spring do all the work. Can always cut off the counter weight on the lever at the transmission for faster shifts.

Exactly how I do it. It's a very smooth shift that way, and quick.

that how i do it in normal driving but when i let those 150 horses rip i like a firm grasp, heh 150 lol
