Default PT GT AUTOMATIC

I was always under the thought that the GT turbo came in a 5 vspeed only but they have a automatic on ebay
Is there a auto on the gt turbo and is there a differance in horsepower between that and the 5 speed
thanks

The GTs, at least in 2003, could be had with the AutoStick transmission. You can use it fully auto or shift when you want by flicking the gear lever left or right. Works like a charm on my '03 GT!

The *vast* majority of PT Cruisers, including the GT and Turbo Lite cars, come equipped with the Automatic. When I got my DCS2 I specifically asked for a 5-speed, and knew they made them as I had seen one on eBay, but of course being that the dealer only had an Auto., he tells my insurance company that's the only way they come, which as we all know is a lie.

Anywho, the engine in the GT (the HO Turbo) is exactly the same in the Automatic and the 5-speed.The PCM is simply different for obvious reasons.
Now the 5-speed should put slightly more power to the ground as the parasitic loss in the driveline will be much less in a manual versus an automatic.

I've got an 04 GTHO with the Autostick. I think CALCRUZER has an 04 with a five speed. I'm not sure but I don't think the 04 GTHO comes with the regular automatic.[8)]

'03 5 spd here. I think most are sold with the auto-stick but I only wanted the 5 spd. I just like to shift.

I like the shifting part too, but some days on the 405 it's nice not to have to use the clutch. I find the Autostick a nice compromise.[8)]

The '03 GTs first came out with the auto stick and we had to wait till almost November of '03 before the manual gear boxes came out. Ours was the first 5 speed in the State of Texas and we picked it up just after Thanksgiving because Chrysler lost it in shipping for a week and a half.

Actually Mike, if you got yours when they came out, I think you mean the end of 2002, not 2003 for the manual GT's. I bought my 2003 GT with the 5 speed March 17th 2003, the day I moved to New Jersey. Either that, or I somehow got the first one nationwide, which I doubt.[:I] Anyways, even here in New Jersey and Philly, I love the feel of doing all the work myself. So much fun, no matter how much traffic.

The GT has never come with a regular automatic, only the Auto-Stick. The Turbo Lite cars only come with a standard Automatic.
