Thumbs up windshield washer pump inop

My account won't let me search or I would.

Where is the pump located? It doesn't show in my Haynes. I was going to check the fuses too but the fuse door doesn't refer to it.

Well, you didn't say what year yours is, but I'm gonna guess it's pretty much the same on all of them. Mine is an 03 and it's on the bottom of the washer fluid jug. It's on the passenger side of the vehicle, under the plastic cowl. Very easy to access.

I'd just take it apart and clean it. In all the years I've owned cars (over 45) I've only replaced ONE pump. I've always been able to open them, clean them and put them back together and have them work. It doesn't take that long and could save you a few bucks if you try. If it doesn't work, then you've not really lost anything but a little time.

Thanks for the advise guys.

Here's the deal. I called Dodge and they wanted $111 just for the pump. Wow

So I thought I'd take your advice and try to clean it. If that didn't work I thought I'd just install an aftermarket pump.

My question is, how does the front and rear washers work. Does the rear have it's own pump that sucks from the tank or is there a divertor valve somewhere.

It has been many years since I have been in that area, is there enough space to mount a universal pump if needed.

I just remembered, I tried the rear washer and it didn't squirt either so I guss that means one pump feeds both but how does the water distribution get controlled?

Cool Re: windshield washer pump inop

Sorry that you didn't get a quick answer.
And, I have on the Challenger sites too much lately.

I am having intermittant problems with mine now too on The Cowboy Cruiser.
In my Caravan, the one pump fed both front and rear washers.
My guess is (as cheap as Chrysler is), it's the same for the Cruiser.
