Default downpipe with cutout, also, calling all with stock muffler delete

Do we cruisers have the same downpipe as srt4's? I'm looking to buy a downpipe with a cutout and its easier to find them for the srt. So will they bolt up? Or at least match so it can be welded in place? Thanks!
Edit: another idea was turbo back exhaust system but cannot find one only catback systems, so I can order a catback system and order an srt4 downpipe separately. What say you?

Now about that stock muffler delete. I deleted mine, sounds great except high end rpm's. It sounds like crap after 4k rpm, almost like muffled or an exhaust leak somewhere. Anyone else experience this? The crappy high rpm exhaust tone gets worse with smaller spark plug gaps. So I stuck with a .50 gap on my plugs.

The pt downpipe is slightly longer if i remember correctly. So if this is something you want to do in the driveway, it is not as easy as just bolting it on.
Any competent muffler shop could easily fab up an extension to fit it to your car. Are you doing the cut out just for the "sound"? If you are trying to gain power, money could be spent elsewhere like a handheld tuner like diablosport or syked ecu tuning offers.

In the USA it is not legal in any state to remove the factory installed CAT to go CATless. And if you are caught operating a vehicle that you removed a factory CAT having no OEM aftermarket or equivalent CAT in its place in a FEDERAL PARK it could be is a misdemeanor or even in some cases felony.

On the performance side you might only gain 1-3 HP not worth the fine or possible jail time.

A cutout only serves to set off alarms and annoy people unless it is for car shows or showing off to friends. And unless you can raise your boost 20+psi and the rev limit to speed the engine above 7K it serves no real performance value.

The stock muffler is not bad but any muffler that will at least flow 300 better at 396 CFM and a CAT back exhaust with as little bends as possible and no more than 2.5 I.D. will have more NET gains than most any other exhaust configuration. Exception may be if you intend on a track only PT.

Thanks guys, yea I was never planning on going catless, on my srt, when I had one, i bought a turbo back system with a cat on the downpipe. That's why I was asking. Now to figure out why my stock exhaust with muffler delete sounds like shit at high rpms. Sounds muffled or a weird type of exhaust leak.

Yea sounds weird, like rushing muffled air. The leak sounds like it's somewhere towards the tail pipe. I'll try to take a video today after work.

Sounds good!!
When i first purchased my cruiser, all i did was cut the muffler off and it sounded like the rushing air like the OP described. Now that im running no interior and downpipe only, i may have to start wearing hearing protection lol
