Default code p0420

Cat system efficiency below threshold bank1

i replace cat with downpipe. error code on o2 sensor.
does anyone have thoughts. does it need to be remaped

Where did you get the 02 sensor? If it's not an OEM Mopar brand one, I'd recommend getting one. Aftermarket sensors are not always up to snuff.

I don't think it is the sensor. If I read his post correctly, he did some exhaust mods. This often causes O2 codes because either the sensor doesn't reach temp fast enough or the "normal" readings for the O2 sensor changed. He also may have pulled the cat.

There are plenty of ways around it, most involve wiring or computer flashes. I have actually seen one thing where they have a "mini-cat" that screws into the O2 bung and then the sensor screws into that to replicate a stock exhaust. I have no idea of the best work around. Maybe Nitro or one of the mod guys does.

yes i pulled the cat.replaced with downpipe.
did not change o2 sensor

thanks to everyone that helped me out.

now the part i got is a 90 Degree Angled O2 Check Engine Light CEL Fix Oxygen Spacer Exhaust Extension. made by CNT®. my light has stayed off for a week now.

anyone running a downpipe with no cat, this is the part you need.
