Is the turbo engine non-interference?

For daily driving, week end cruisin' and playing "Tag! You're it!" from the stop lights, the torque numbers are what puts you back in the seat. The base Cruiser has a nice helping of torque for a 4-cylinder and the turbo just adds another big scoop of it to make the line on the dyno chart fatter and flatter. This means the Cruiser is responsive over a broad range and can get out of its own way if it has to, which adds to the positive driving experience.

It has its own cult following and a basket of "hot rod" tricks if you want a little more for cheap or a lot more if you have money to burn.



The timing belt is a maintenance item and not something you want to gamble on, though. I've seen more that a few reports of broken belts and a good share of them have happened at low speeds. The clock had just run out.

Handy_Cruiser, any chance you could check the Winged Badge door entry guards on that Platinum Series? My driver's side one is completely shot. I'd pay for it and shipping if it's in good shape. (Looks like a lot of good rust-free sheet metal as well *sigh*)......
