Default July 2nd Englishtown Runs

First lemme say it was really freakin' cool to finally meet up with some of the folks from the boards! We had 6 PTs show up and all had a ball. TY Left-Coasters for inspiring us. :P

In attendence was KSquared, Gear-Head, JensPT, RobGT, NKBKGT, and myself. The drummer from my wife's band came to watch and KSq drafted him into Photographer duty so he should have some pics for us at some point. I forgot my cam so, no videos.

I'm sure the others will make their way here to post up and since my memory is for **** I won't try and remember their times.

Code:
1st Run

      Beac JensPT

R/T: .683 .126
60': 2.417 2.567
330: 6.653 7.039
1/8: 10.205 10.756
MPH: 66.53 68.15
1000: 13.453 14.013

1/4: 16.264 16.793
MPH: 79.83 80.94

2nd Run

      Beac JensPT

R/T: -.059 .460
60': 2.587 2.428
330: 6.909 6.881
1/8: 10.419 10.606
MPH: 71.03 67.97
1000: 13.385 13.870

1/4: 15.942 16.653
MPH: 87.57 80.92

3rd Run

       Beac RobGT

R/T: .588 .174
60': 2.593 2.401
330: 6.961 6.369
1/8: 10.503 9.686
MPH: 70.39 73.22
1000: 13.493 12.605

1/4: 16.049 15.066
MPH: 87.06 91.69
I think we were all fairly impressed with JensPT's times considering she has a 2001 with an A/M turbo installed (Hahn's if memory serves).

My only performance mods are Ram Air hood with Airaid intake and BTG exhaust. And my innate ability to repeatedly screw-up my reaction times. I also had a weird sag in acceleration on my first run when I shifted to third, I'm blaming it on my shifting too late (around 5800-6000) versus around 5200-5300 which is what I shifted at the last two runs.

RobGT has Dual-Stage Boost Controller and upgraded wastegate.

Sorry for the delay in posting, it being a holiday weekend and all I have been kind of busy.
We all had a great time. It was great meeting some of the people from the forums.
We were able to get our own staging lane so we could all run against each other. It was really cool seeing six PTs all lined up ready to race. The weather was 86F with a humidity of 65, not the best for fast times but we all had a blast. I was hopping to beat my best time but was only able to better it by a few 100th's My best time was 14.409 @ 95.64 again with a poor shift from 2nd to 3rd. This will be resolved next week with my Hurst shifter. Weight of my car with the driver, minus the back seats and spare was lbs.

And now for the time slips.

Awesome pics! My first time at the track and it was really cool.
Cant wait to go again. It was fun meeting everyone and I had a great time hanging out and talking shop!
Turbo PTs rule, man!

I had four runs which was great...
KSquared kicked my butt with his 14.4 run...that was sick!
My best was 15.014 @ 91.58.
On the first run I skipped 2nd gear.
On the 4th run I was sleeping at the light!

I'm running Autostick w/Stage1, SSWGA, DSBC, K&N Drop-in, 2.5" cat-back/Borla muffler, pirelli tires, seats removed, 1/4 tank gas. Put it in Autostick then left it alone.
Never shifted into 4th gear.

Here goes:

RobGT NKBKGT
R/T: .308 .887
60': 2.564 2.813
330: 6.683 7.316

MPH: 68.35 68.81
1000: 13.358 13.995

1/4: 15.939 16.601
MPH: 86.76 84.65

2nd Run

Beacon RobGT
R/T: .588 .174
60': 2.593 2.401
330: 6.961 6.369
1/8: 10.503 9.686

1000: 13.493 12.605

1/4: 16.049 15.066
MPH: 87.06 91.69

Nice going guys - Sorry I couldn't make this one but I'm sure looking forward to the next trip.

Question - I'm looking at the 1/4 times and am a little surprised that there were not more 14's. The times I'm reading in the car mags are showing 15's for the stock GT's. With all the mods we're making, especially Stage I, why aren't we seeing only 14's on our S1 cars? (Just curious)

I think we would have seen more had it been cooler and drier. G_H would have had better times if he'd pulled his seats and his subs. Same with mine, I don't have S1 but if I'd yanked the seats and 70lbs sub box I'd have shaved a bit from my times. RobGT was really close to 14s but don't think he broke in.

Also many of us had never ran on a legitimate track before so we had a bit of a learning curve to make up for. You can see our times improved a bit with each successive run (for the most part) as we lost the initial butterflies and got a bit more comfortable with the timing at the line.

Traction is a big part of it too. I had some wheel spin issues as did others. I don't think we need full out slicks but some drag radials wouldn't have hurt.

No excuses, I weighed the cruiser after my last run. It weighed in @ 3785 lbs. 50-60 lbs of subwoofers, Back seats approx 100 lbs, amp rack and amps 60-65 lbs including rack assy, finally a full tank of gas (dumb huh). With all of that I still ran a 15.065 (Best Run)on my first run. Next time I loose the back seats, the tunes (amps & subs) and I won't have a full tank of gas. I refuse to leave the spare tire home though. My luck I'd get a flat if I did that. I have stage 1 and a DSBC. Wasn't track ready, but it was still a lot of fun....

Good lord G_H! Bone Stock mine was 3231 you have a couple bodies hidden behind the subs?

lol, When I was considering emptying it out (before I compromised and left the shelf at home ) I was thinking the same thing, in particular after KSq picked up a hood pin his previous trip there.
