Default Installed JL Audio speakers in the front and back stocks don't work now

It's funny because when initially testing them, I hooked them up in the back and the stock speakers in the front worked. Is this due to them consuming too much power? Or maybe the speakers in the back run on an amp? Right now the JLs are the only thing aftermarket. Everything else is stock. I'm running a 2008 PT limited without factory sub or tweeters.

It's possible that your 2008 Limited has a digitally-controlled factory amp. And different ohm rated speakers may cause it to act this way. If you run your VIN on the Dodge/Chrysler service webpage it will give you a list of things your PT came with. Somebody else will have to provide the link.

Crutchfield says all four door speakers are rated at 4 ohms.

I use to have a DCA in a CANbus and it made no difference the speaker choice as long as the speaker choice stayed with the proper Ohms. Naturally using a higher min power rated speaker then the system can handle can tax many factory amps so you need to read and understand ALL the speakers specification and not the MAX spike power handling.

I would say you crossed up some how on the wiring...rechecking it would the the first thing to do.
