Default Convertible top goes down slowly in cold...

Hello all, the car in question is an 05 PT convertible 5spd. Dream Cruiser 4. It's 30F out now, but I actually love the cold and wanted to put my top down for a cruise around town.

The top still goes down, but while retracting it goes in about 1 foot bursts. I can hear a click in the dash each time it does it too. When putting the top back up, it goes in one smooth movement like always.

Question: does the PT convertible have a temp sending adjustment for winter top use? Does it go slowly to remind you it's a foolish idea, or perhaps to knock possible snow and ice off before folding?

Thank you.

Every convertible I've owned acted like this. Best I can tell, the pump has a hard time pumping the oil when it's too cold. If you drive the car for a while with the heater on and let everything warm up, it will usually work much better.

Thanks! Tried a few more times today and worked at 34 and 36 with ease when the car was warmer up.
