Default Slipping to neutral gear

Does anyone else have this problem?
When I push it really hard, it sometimes slips to neutral gear, which is not nice since rpms go really high. First I thought I didn't shift properly, but now after few instances I'm inclined to think that it's a problem.

Not sure about the Russian PT's but ours have a rev limiter that stops the engine from killing itself because of over-revving. Sounds like you need to see the dealer about some adjustments to the linkage.

Mojito, are you sure Julia isn't reaching over and nudging it into neutral? Ha! I assume it's a 5 speed. Is it going to neutral from any particular gear and is it when you let off on the accelerator or during full power?

Julia hates it when I do fast starts. She says that I drive like a lunatic (she's probably right) so I don't do it when she's in the car.
Sorry I didn't mention it in my first post. Yes, it's a 5 speed manual. It happens on full power when I accelerate really hard, but with rpms still in the black area. I'm not sure yet from which gear it slips, I think, from 2nd or 3rd.

I've never had a problem with it popping out of gear on its own, but I know mine is very easy to get out of gear without using the clutch.

As mentioned before, the shifter cable probably needs to be adjusted. I would also check the condition of the shifter cable bushings. One or more may be broken/dislodged/or loose.

Thanks a lot everyone for your answers. I'm about to order the short throw shifter, and I'll have my dealer to check the cables and bushings once it is being installed.
