Default I joined the club!

Not the Stage 1 club I was hoping to join shortly, but the "High RPM Miss Club". Now Stage 1 will have to wait while this gets taken care of. 16,500 miles and not one problem. I don't even get the brake dust build up on the wheels that most people get! Oh well, there are worse things that can happen.
[8)] is now on hold.

Isn't the fix for the "high RPM miss" just a flash or replacement of the stock PCM? If you're planning on going S1 that alone should fix the problem!

I have the PCM replaced and I still had stumble. I got more results closing up my plug gap to .45.

I know Stage 1 will fix this, and I still plan on getting this, but I want my original PCM to work CORRECTLY if I need to swap out Stage 1 for any reason.
I paid for a warranty so I WANT Chrysler to fix it. It's also a good excuse to now get new plugs and wires too. You know, just in case. Not a "mod" but "maintanence". That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Just like when your air filter is dirty and needs replacing, you go out and buy a K&N entire intake system. Just tell the better half it's "maintanence".
A body kit may be a hard sell though... I geuss I have to hit something first.

Just remember when you purchase Stage 1, and, if you have your dealer install it, you keep the stock PCM (you paid for it when you bought the car). Some dealers will tell you [V] the "we need the stock PCM"..."it needs to be sent back to DC"...etc. This is NOT correct. If a dealer tells you this--find another one! [|)] Good luck.

I'm not surprised. There's a TSB about plugs & wires:
08-008-04 03/02/2004 Engine:Electrical -
New Spark Plug for 2.4L Engine
The new style spark plug is now recommended and preferred
for use in all 2004 and previous model years that are equipped
with a 2.4L engine. Spark Plug gap is to be set at .040
The new spark plug is more resistant to possible cold
engine carbon fouling.

Note: To eliminate concerns of a possible high secondary
ignition voltage flashover, caused by the thermal set of
the ignition cable spark plug boot(s), to the old style
spark plugs (RE14MCC5), install new ignition cables when
replacing the old style spark plugs with the new style spark
plugs, RE16MC or LZTR4A-11, for the first time.

OK, that makes sense.

Sounds good too. You're a very sensible person.

Had high rpm miss before stage 1. Regapped plugs to .040 and miss went away.

What size socket is used for the spark plugs? Maybe I'll try this before I take it in and see what happens.

After checking some spark plug sites it seems my 03 GT should be running the new plugs even though the bulletin is only for N/A engines! Did I miss something somewhere and is the new plug RE16MC gaped at .040" the ticket now?? I have just this side of 30,000 miles so I am going to change plugs and plug wires (MOPAR P4876511)soon!
