From reading all these posts, I think I'd listen hard to the jet engine mechanic. Perhaps a ceramic coating could do some good, maybe a couple horsepower. But what if it does harm; you burn up your turbo, and then... you have 0 horsepower because the engine won't run. For several hundred dollars, why not buy a set of headers, new exhaust, S1 (unless you already have it), or a new intake. If you decide to take the plunge into ceramic coating, I'd make darn sure you go to somebody who knows what they're doing and has some references.

b) you're posting stuff out your rear. turbo engines don't use "headers" It helps no one when people who don't know what they are talking about come on here and try to give advice to people looking for informed answers. It would be like if you asked how to remove a scratch from your car, and instead of just letting Gary (turbomangt) help you out, I told you to take some beach sand on a warm closth and rub until the scratch was gone.....

I think his comments were more for intent than for actual application.

A little note to crazy joe:
a) Picture has been removed. b) That was an informed opinion, turbocharged engines can use headers, they are specifically made for turbocharged engines. Next time you want to comment on someone else's posts, put your brain in gear first, and then start running your fingers on the keyboard.

Unfortunately Chromedcruiser , in this case you are posting incorrect info . Our turbo'd cars can't use headers per say as our turbo is integrated into the exhaust manifold . That is until someone can make one that'll work .

I was attempting to make a generalized comment the first time (buying a different performance mod), and then crazy joe has to speak up and say that turbo engines don't use headers at all... which isn't true. I bet somebody will make headers for the GT sometime soon.

There are a couple of companies that are working on an installation of a larger turbo for our cars, having already made a successful transplant into an SRT4. To accomplish this they are building custom tubular head pipes (headers) that the turbo housing bolts up to, unlike the stock turbo housing that is integral to the cast header. So, in this case there will be headers. But as for just doing a header swap, it is not possible unless you are willing to replace the turbo too.
