The word "Chiping"

Warranties really arent voided unless the can prove that an aftermarket part was the direct cause of the malfunction. Of course, a PCM, pretty much covers everything....[B)], but nonetheless. A fuse? Fuses have no performance value whatsoever...Chipping is referred to repalcing a chip in the ECU. Replacing the entire ECU (like S1..) isnt really chipping, its an ECU upgrade.

As for the word chipping, I think, installing stage 1 IS chipping, at least for 2004 models, since it's nothing more than chip tuning.

I was in England not long ago and saw a sign that said "Loose Chippings" with a guy swinging a pick-ax. I guess that's what the Brits do with the old Chips!!
