Default The word "Chiping"

I'm not a hard core tuner type of person, but my service guy today used that word when I mentioned Stage 1.

He said chiping the car would not void my warranty, but had to becare of PCM reflashes. Now, I assume that in the world of tuners, "Chiping" means modfying the PCM or am I wrong about the term "Chiping:?

OK I will bite what fuse are you talking about?? How could a fuse do anything in terms of performance? They either blow or dont blow!! Usually the wire size, length of run, and draw determine fuse size!

My smiley wasn't meant to say I was confused...it was supposed to represent some crazy advice being given about HP from a fuse!

Heh, Crewzin, I knew you weren't confused, and 026TB4U I knew you were kidding. We all know that in order to add REAL horsepower you skip the fuses and add STICKERS to your car! Well, they give certain Hondas an extra 25HP, don't they?

The service guy (he's not 17, he's roughly my age) I deal with is pretty cool. As long I don't do radical mods like replacing a new big turbo in my car, I won't have a problem. He isn't quite aware of the PT Cruiser mods (seems like he deals more other import type cars), but seem to have the general understanding of modfying cars.

In any case, he gives me alot of room to work with my cruiser. He didn't mind if I added a Stage 1 and a BoV, but generally let me know that if the problem is related to that afermarket part, I'll have the warranty work nulled. However, he assured me that he'll do whatever it takes to service my cruiser.

Before I never considered Stage 1 and a BoV, but working with my service guy defintely gave me more thoughts in adding in a Stage 1 and BoV in the near future.

I don't have a problem paying for their service.
