Just got back from Monster Mopar Weekend in St Louis area and thought I would share some times that I saw. 2004 magnum RT..14.60 and a PT TURBO 14.47 and a stock Neon RT ran a 13.98

Those Neon trims sure hide the SRT-4 well .

I agree regarding the Neon...unless it was a built RT running a really big shot!! That 14.47 PT was most likely running a boost controller - that's a pretty sweet time! As for the Magnum, I would have thought him a bit quicker, closer to a 14 flat. Traction problems maybe? Not enough revs at launch? Too many revs at launch? Still, better than the guy here in SoCal who put those HUGE chrome wheels on and killed his times....he ran mid 15's if I recall. What a shame.

Id have to throw the BS flag at the Neon...not at you, but it prob wasnt as stock as you think (or it was an SRT). The Cruiser had to have something done to it. The magnum seems about right though. There was the HEMI version that ran the track a few weeks ago and was running high 15s. At your altitude, that would be about right.

We should import the BS Flag from the SRT-4 forums, than again it might alienate people. [
]The dodge magnums should get mid 14's rather easy. The one we saw at California Speedway (1100~1200 ft. above sea level) had pretty big chrome rims (like Mike said). I mean those rims were quite OBVIOUS that it was going to put a dent on the 1/4 mile time. |

When I was drag racing my ImpalaSS last weekend I saw a Magnum Rt run a best of 14.78. One of the members of our club sold his Impala SS and bought one and raced with it. We were bracket racing. It was pretty consistent, and went a few rounds. That means that the 14.78 was about it on that day at that track. Maybe a 14.25 on a cold day.
It could be much quicker with changes in the exhaust, intake, slicks, torque converter, and gears. Like any other car. One problem with these cars is the computer isn't hackable yet, so you can't mess around too much (like a gear change for instance). I don't think there's much available for them yet in terms of aftermarket parts, but their popularity gaurantees that wont last long. Give them a year or so and they will get them down into the 12's NA. Then I'll have to stick a bottle in the SS's trunk to keep an edge on them.

Did you by chance make it out to the infield of the oval track? I was out there with some of the members of the St.Louis SRT club. We had a pretty good turn out this year. Some of the people came down Sunday from the Chicago club. If you came buy out there at the car show I had the Blue 04 PT/GT Cruiser there.I had a 03 SRT-4 and traded it in on the 04 GT.(not brag'n but I got to tell ya;had the fastest SRT in the St.Louis club. 12.8/112 on the stock PilotSports). ![]() And you mentioned a Neon RT.Was it a first gen.car and black by chance? If so that car belongs to the president of the St.Louis Neon club. Its got a 2.4 turbo engine in it that he pieced together before the SRT's came out.Pretty cool ride.Has that sleeper look to it. I went over and watched some of the nostalgia cars run Sunday but didn't get to see much else. I did see one interesting car run though. It was a maroon Shelby Charger with slicks. It ran in the mid 11's. I was impressed.[8D] I run every Tuesday at GIR.They have a street tire Test and Tune on Tuesday night. I guess this may as well be a good time as any to tell about me a little also. I raced out there since I was a kid.(42yrs. old now)Lot of fun times and lot of breaking stuff through the years. And probably the best thing is all the people I met and know. But anyway had alot of muscle cars and did alot of class raceing. The latest cars I had was a 87 Grand National 11.65/116. A 68 Canadian biult 442 12.20/108. And the 03 SRT-4 12.8/112 on street tires. Now my favorite Tuesday night vehichle is the GT Cruiser. ![]() 13.8/99. ![]() Here's what its got.(similar set up as the SRT) Stg.1,Turbo X HP Dual Stg. Boost Controler,AGP Wastegate.BFG Drag Radials.Stock air box with baffles removed.Oh yea its a auto stick and I was leaveing the line at 12lbs of boost with a 1.99/60ft. I just put a Cold Air Intake on it and done some intake manifold work on it like I had on the SRT but I haven't ran it with those 2 mods yet. Probably about 2 tenths is what it should see.(I hope)Thats what the SRT did anyway. Well glad you all put up with listening to me just figured I would get it all out of the way up front.Hope to maybe meet you all somewhere one day.And also I'm sure it will be interesting reading everybody's posts. Sorry I talked so long. See ya,George. [8)] [8)] [8)][ ]

George, how'd you get the AGP WGA to fit...we've been told by others they are too large to fit the Cruisers. APG has a new billet WGA coming out within two weeks that is supposed to fit (according to AGP)
