Actually, nevermind about the Stage 1, I bought the car in Massachusetts, where emission laws are about the same as Cali, I have pollution control. Installing a Stage 1 on my vehicle is apparently illegal.

Don't you just love Commonwealth states?
Hey, I'm right below you, in CT. I hadn't bought Stage I because I was worried about emissions / warranty issues but I guess I don't really need to considering Rowland disassembled our working for years emissions system and hired his buddies to replace it. Of course, the new system has been 2 years late in coming and was taken offline about a month after it started up because of software issues, bribery and other fun stuff.

I wonder how many years total it will be that CT doesn't have an emissions program, because they don't look to be ready for startup yet.

Forget about playing with spark plug gapping. The true fix is to get your PCM replaced. I had my PCM replaced this time last year, and I haven't had a single buck at 5,200RPM since the replacement. As far as I know, the dealer didn't touch my plugs at all.

I was having a slight roughness when going up long grades at part throttle. I regapped the plugs from .050 to .040, and the problem went away. I've never had a car so sensitive to spark plug gap. I have an '04 turbo-lite, 9,042 miles.
