Default Production Run total for Dream Series 2

Recently heard that DC shortened the Dream Cruiser 2 production to something less than the usual 7500 copies. The story told was that DC dealers were afraid of the Tangerine Pearl coat not selling, and that DC caved to their presures. I have #2430; any higher #'s out there? Anyone know anything relative to the final run?

Thanks, just curious!

While I don't know the facts on the DCS2 (rumor has it production was stopped around 5000) I have read that the DCS3 was limited to around 1200 units.

I think there is only one guy on this forum that has a DC3. i would have loved one but I couldn't see spending another 5 grand over mine for a paint job and blue windows and a little different interior. I am not impressed with DC4 either. Dark red with a tan top...It's no tangerine or aztec yellow.

Thanks, guys for the responses. Someone here said he had heard around 5000 also. No big deal, just curious. I love mine no matter the final run. In fact, I'm constantly asked if it is a new color, or did the factory really paint it? Gotta love it. I also have my early model TE that's shale green--another color discontinued in a short time.I guess I have a flair for picking colors.

Cruise safe & often.

I read somewhere that there were about 2,500 DC2s built, and on another forum, somebody said Chrysler told them exactly 2,189 DC2s were built, but that doesn't match your badge number. Who knows? One thing for sure, there aren't that many out there, which is great, I think! Makes each one that more special.

Nice green, Gary. Pin-stripping not bad either!! Seriously, yours is the only "other" color I would consider. I do like the relatively rare colors. It's nice not to see so many copies. Cruise safe and often.

Thanks. I believe less than a 1000 Seamist Green PT Cruisers--far fewer GT models--were produced between July 1 and October 31, 2003. I hope to get the exact numbers from DC soon. However, my car is the only GT Seamist Green Dream Cruiser in the country! [^] To verify that just look at the Dash Plaque. [8D]

Ours is #2593 so there were at least that many.
