I also made the same choice. I was looking for practical & fun. My buddies were trying to steer me towards WRX, since 2 of them owned one. I was considering it, but was not within my range. Plus I wanted something different & unique. I didn't want to own a car, my buddies already had. I was looking at Audi, VW's, etc. but nothing close to my budget even for a 2nd hand/certified car, especially with me being choosy as what I wanted in the car. I even considered good MPG cars, such as Toyota Prius Hybrid & Honda Civic Hybrids, but they were no fun with very little hp.
I always had the PT in mind. After test driving it and doing a lot of research, I was getting hooked even more. Most cars has it's share of problems, so I also figured the cost of repair would be a lot cheaper with the PT. After visiting lots of dealers, I found the color I liked, but with no leather. For a brand new car, I was still way within my budget. I happened to visit my local dealer and found the same color, but with the leather heated seats, which I prefered. I even got a better deal. So within a few days of haggling, I walked out the dealer with a new car. As most of you know, I've gone mod crazy, though I've kind of slowed down at the moment. When I talked to most of my buddies with their WRX's about mods, they actually spent at least twice the money I spent, with similar type of perfomance mods. That kind of reassured me even more about my PT choice. The thing I really like it, the PT is a love it or hate it car. It is one of those cars that can easily be identified at a distance. Not many cars around 30K or less fall under that category. So I'm very happy with my PT. My GT is a perfect sleeper.

not all of them are idiotsm and i am sure they think the same about us. A WRX and a PT Cruiser are 2 different animals. period. they really arent comparable. we should have ended this a while ago. WE are being the dicks now. a mod should have locked this thread a long time ago. if any of this was already said, sorry. i just dont feel like reading more useless crap!

If I lived in a place with perfect weather conditions year round I would not feel the need to post, but I don't. So in some cases like this morning when my Stage 1 GT was clawing for traction everytime I hit the gas pedal because the roads were wet I would rather have a WRX and be more than satisfied with the extra money I had to spend. All wheel drive handles better and you can drive it in the snow without buying extra wheels and tires or totally changing your driving habits.I own a Cruiser for a couple reasons. One I am a Manager at a Chrysler dealership and driving anything other than a Chrysler shows that I do not support the product I sell. Two more room and it has a unique look. Though and STI or a Evolution may be in the not to distant future. Many of you have raced WRX's and other cars and probably didn't feel the need to run to your computer and post it. I raced others too, every car and driver are differant. If you win post a vid I would rather see the win than just reading about it.

you cant call cars equal by the amount of money that is spent.
