Default The Evolution of a PT Turbo Owner

See a PT and get all excited. Don't buy yet.
See a PT Turbo and get all excited. Buy.
See all the vendors on the net and get all excited. Buy.
See all the forums and get all excited. Find out what you should have bought.
Buy everything. Wife gets all excited.
Go to meeting and admit you are addicted. NOT.

Yes, my experience was the nearly the same. There was one important difference.

You said. "Buy everything. Wife gets excited."

Change the word "excited" to "angry."

Funny thing is that when I got my turbo I told my wife it was already fast and I wouldn't need to do the mods like I did with my '01....I told her I didn't lie on purpose.

Went with wife looking for a Toyota Matrix or Ford Focus.
Saw a PT (NA).
Was surprised at how practical it was.
Lost wife in car lot.
Found wife admiring the color of electric blue PT (see signature line).
Learned it was a GT with 4,500 miles for $17,000.
Test drove it.
Bought it.
Now my wife keeps showing me chrome mods that can be done to it.
I am resisting the potential mods "money-pit" bug, but am growing weak.

Im a bit past that point.

...Realize your Auto Tranny is a POS and wont reach 300 torque w/o breaking.
By another older car to make fast instead.

....or realize that the PT will never be a true sports car so go out and buy a Miata for the twisty bits. Looks good in the garage next to the PT, too!

By the way, SakiGT, what kind of "older car" did you buy, or are you still looking?
