I've got an 03 GT 5 speed with the same flicker problems. No rhyme or reason to this problem. The flickering comes and goes, I can be driving down a country road at night and suddenly the exterior and interior lights will flicker for anywhere from 5 to 15 seconds. Could happen again in one minute, 20 minutes, as I said, no rhyme or reason to it all.
Decided to install the Sun Hyperground system last week. Info about my install is here: http://www.ptcruiserlinks.com/forum/...round%2CSystem Hyperground install proved to be no help to the flickering light issues. This GT has been an excellent car but the flickering issue is really unacceptable. I am contemplating getting the local dealer to look at it but trying to get someone to see this issue during the middle of the day might be a worthless cause. If anyone else has any opinions or help I'd sure love to hear them. |

I, too, have an '03 GT with the dimming problem when stepping on the brakes (and also rolling up the windows when they're already up - thus putting a "load" on the circuit), and I have a horrible flickering/dimming (interior AND exterior lights) after the car is warm. Doesn't seem to happen as severely when the car is still cold.
Along with all this, my fan blower will correspondingly follow in step with my lights dimming and getting brighter (the fan speed seems to increase and decrease as the lights get brighter and dimmer, respectively). I've had my PCM replaced (Stage 1), flashed (before the Stage 1) and have installed the Sun hyperground, all with absolutely no effect on the flickering/dimming/etc. Also, the radio display (the one that shows the time or radio station number) does NOT dim along with the interior/exterior lights, but the radio controls/station preset button backlights DO dim and flicker along with the interior lights. Go figure.
