Ever since I installed S-1 I have had some glitches with the AC compressor turning Off When I accelerate but it doesn't turn back on. It was very erratic and because it was minimal I didn't pay much attention to it.
Today, it did it again... But this time it was different. I was cruising at mid high speed in a nice road full of curves but when I was back in trafic, the AC was very poor and sudenly, the engine temp went all the way to the hot section... I parked the car inmidiately but when I parked, it was at the top of the scale and started to buble up. I turned off the engine and cheked the fan. It was off! I oppened the fuze box and guess what? there are no fuzes or relays for the fan on the GT!!! It is controlled by the PCM. Five minutes later, I decided to give it another try, When I turned on the car, I turned the AC knob to the full fan mode and oppened up the heater vent to help in the cooling. Guess what??? The fan worked again perfectly and cooled the engine, it was working again perfectly... I checked the Trip Odometer and it had resetted itself. It said zero miles traveled. I started to drive back home and when I turned on the factory radio, it was on but no sound!!! I drove the car like that for some time today. The funny thing is that a few minutes back, the radio started to work perfectly again... What do you think. Ian |

That's scary.
Wonder what more important thing won't work next time.

I do not know about the radio connection to this, but I would double check that there isn't a bent pin or something on the connector to your stage 1 PCM. Try that first.

There is/was a bulletin on this problem and the early SI pcm also had the fault. I do beleive MoPar will reflash the PCM for you if you send it to them or the company that produces the pcm. Do a search on over heatin and you might find the bulletin. Good luck!
This might help? http://www.ptcruiserlinks.com/forum/...ms=cooling,fan I wouldn't let the dealership flash the SI PCM! |
