Default hahn impressions

i talked to Brad from Hahn today. ( nice guy) and from what ive gathered from him im interested in the stage one. My question to you guys is this: what are the drawbacks to going to turbo? Is it worth it?

What are your impressions of the Hahn product?

its a lot more money, less reliable, and a lot more fun. If this is your daily driver... i wouldnt suggest doing it. My 2 cents.

Drawbacks: None
Well worth it!
I ran stage 1 for over 25k miles & stage 2 for over 5k miles now, with absolutly no problems. There is no more reason that a Hahn powered PT can't be a daily driver than a GT can. Now if you plan to do a lot of all out 1/4 mile drag racing you'd need to install aftermarket pistons, rods & bearings (or just get a set of GT internals) but for daily driving you need only the kit. It's a blast & the best part is that with enough $$ you can upgrade to go as fast as you want to without whinning about when DC will let you do it! Any fool can blow an engine & I'll admit that with a turbocharger it makes his job easier, so a person would maybe want to drive with a bit more care than with a n/a which would include getting the meters to monitor what's going on.

The only possible drawback (with stage 2) would be that you might irritate your friends who drive (stock) GTs. They hate getting beat by an unbadged PT... but then so does everyone else!

HA! HA! Don't I know it. I passed a stock GT on the freeway with my modified unbadged GT and he couldn't keep up. When I slowed down he finally caught up and zoomed by. My wife and I had a good laugh. He probably couldn't understand how a "PT Base Model" left him in the dust. [8)] [?]

Yea, when they pass you the first time, they totally ignore you (especially ricers) but when you let them catch you the second time it's "eyes right".

I have met and partied with Bill Haun and his crew several times. A solid bunch of folks. And they do build a good product.

Ok, I have an 02, Limited and it's a daily driver, about 12 miles round trip to DC Metro. I do about 60mph on average. I was thinking of slapping on a turbo for better performance. You all are saying that my stock drivetrain can handle the extra power, as long as I don't punch it off the line?

Absolutly. If you're looking for a little better performance then Hahn stage 1 would do the trick. Your auto trans may be a limiting factor but as long as you're not planning a career in drag racing it should do ok. Also Jackson Racing just came out with their supercharger & I understand it's a lot easier to install with about the same power as hahn stage 1...but there's no upgrading in case you catch the horsepower virus.
