Default Installed the Firewires...

After chasing the gremlins that cause the hesitation since my car was new, I finally broke down and got some Crane Firewires from Race and Street (thanks Maggie). I have had the PCM replaced, regapped the plugs..a couple times... and have only met with limited success. It got some better but did not go away completely. It seems that the new wires have done the trick. I drove around most of the day on sunday and did not notice a problem once, just smooth acceleration through the RPM range.

I don't really like making blanket recommendations, but if your turbo is having hesitation problems, I would try new GOOD wires sooner rather than later. With new wires and plugs gapped at about .042 it really feels smooth at last.

After reading up on Iridium plugs I think I will try a set of those too. http://www.densoiridium.com/index.php A little pricey but hey, we only need 4!

I just got done with NGK Iridiums and MOPAR wires and it is as smooth as silk. I never really had much of a hesitation problem but now it is so much smoother. I dont think it was my plug wires so I have to say it was the plugs. Costly? Cost me $39.61 for the plugs at sparkplugs.com. The wires cost $46.10 also delivered to my door. Good Luck!

I also installed the Firewires, but I gapped the plugs to .040. I gapped them at first to .045, but Mean Green suggest .040, like he has. Boy, it made a difference!

I had already gapped my plugs down to .045 a couple months ago. It made some difference. I beleive the wires made more difference than the extra .003 change in plug gap.
