Default 2003/2004 GT engine differences?

From what I have seen, the 2003 GT gets max torque at 3600 RPM's while the 2004 model gets max at 2800 RPM's, is this accurate and if so, why such the difference? What was done in the 2004 model to increase the gain? Thanks.

And in 2004 it was rated at 220HP while the 2003 GT was rated at 215HP. I was robbed I tell you!

Stage 1 for the 2003 model comes with the newer injectors so you can catch up in the fuel delivery department. Get it. You won't regret it.

I was wondering if that was the big difference, thanks. Now if only they'd offer an interior like the convertible in the normal gt...

Well, with the larger injectors, there are some PCM differences in programming to accomodate for the larger injectors.

Guessing time again but it is part injectors part software and the biggest part is PR. I think they just measured the Hp and torque at a different rpm. They pretty much can pick up or loose 5 to 10 hp anytime they want to. Who else can really measure at the flywheel??

The wiring to the A/C is different so the that is an additional change in the PCM between the '03 and the '04.

I think there was a post saying that DC's original dyno runs were yielding 217 HP and it was too close to the release date or something that they rounded it down to 215 rather than claim 220 at that time. Then with the bigger injectors and the same PCM they got 220 HP.
