[:I] On my way back to the DC dealer to discuss the second attempt at solving my transmission whine (see previous post) I was passed by an 04 GT with a RICEMUFFLER!!!!!!!!!!! Sounded just like a burner. Talk about a misguided GT owner. Sounded like $#!*&^%!![xx(]

Everyone has their preferrence in exhausts. Some like burners, some like loud ones, some like quiet ones. Personally, I like loud exhausts + V8's.

If you're looking for a good sound, Flowmaster is the only option. Good rumble at idle, and a nice hum when going through the RPM's. Nothing beats a Flowmaster.

I am using a Megan Racing muffler ($90) on my 240 hp (to the wheels) turboed PT. It is not my first choice as far as looks, but I did it for a reason.
1.I am running a full 3" exhaust, and it has a nice 3" inlet that worked well. I preferred a 3" outlet, but only 4" is available. 2. It is lightweight whan compared to other mufflers. I will be replacing it with a titanium muffler when I find one available with the specs I want and a reasonable price. Weight savings is more important to me than looks. At ~ 2 lbs for the muffler it can't be beat, and it will be a direct replacement. I will, in the future, like to replace the 3" tubing with titanium as well. 3. How many of you are able to adjust the sound (tone) of your exhaust withing 60 seconds?? I can! With the silencer in it has a nice low rumble at idle (sounds exactly likr the Borla I replaced it with) and sound very similar to the Borla when going thru the gears[8)] No chainsaw sound like the high reving, pea shooter size exhaust the kids in Hondas are using. When I take the silencer out, the neighbors get scared (or pissed, depending) Loud, Deep rumble. It sound amazing when racing, and has nice loud, low tone. Much better than my Borlas. 4. This muffler, with the silencer removed, is a straight thru design for a free flowing exhaust when used for racing. How many of you have a straight thru design? Or do you have a bunch of baffles and traps to quiet the tone down? Or have to add a heavy resonator to get the tone you are looking for? Advantages: weight savings (for those of you who loke to go fast, instead of LOOKING like you go fast). Soud adjustability. Straight through design for performance. Disadvantages: Don't love the look, but it is OK, and it works very well. thanks, Anthony

I run a Magnaflow and am very pleased with the sound. I have the muffler hidden in the spare tire well, so you can't see any muffler, just the tips.
The spare is in the trunk under the tray when it is at lowest position. I have a boot for it.
