Cruise Control Glitch

Hey
Anyone had this problem??
Turn on cruise control then turn turn it off and try to set it again but
cruise won't come back on
example:
Here's the sequence
Driving 65 mph engage cruise control(cruise lights up in gauge)
Next disengage cruise (cruise light goes out in gauge)
Now when I try to engage again cruise doesn't work ( no light in gauge)
But if I turn the car off and then back on everthing works fine
