the 3 turns thing with the ignition key
does not work on an 04'

stopped by the dealer and he was nice enough to bring out his
code reader and we did it right in the driveway, turned out to
be a alarm code for the power steering pump,he said it happens
somtimes on manual cars when you kill the car by being poor
on the clutch at the same time you are turning sharp.

the sensor knows the pump is working hard and there is not
enough rpms for the pump to work well, hence you get a code

he cleared it and i was on my way in 10 minutes
thanks for the ideas

So it was driver error?
I think we all learned something on this one - I didn't know PS pump would throw a code.

Sorry Mr.2U, but the ignition key trick does work on '04's. I have a 2004 PT GT, and check all the time because there are some codes that will not set off the CEL. You have to start in the off position and go, on, off, on, off,on. On the 3rd time, leave the key in the on position and the car will either show "donE", or give you codes then show "donE" where the mileage is normally shown.

There is a power steering pressure switch that tells the PCM to increase the engine rpm during increased load on the pump. This is easy to see. With the engine at idle in gear, turn the wheel sharply. You will see the rpm increase just over 100 rpm to compensate.
