For me its Mobil 1 5w30 and a K&N filter every oil change. Makes my PT happy!
That's my recipe also. I get the 5quart jugs at WalMart, buy the K&N online by the case of 12!

5 quart jug! WOW! I biggest one I've gotten was a gallon at Strauss, and I still had to buy another quart! Then goto Autozone to buy the K&N filter. I gotta start getting them online too!

Thanks for all the replies guys. I understand the issues a little better now and feel more comfortable sticking with the 10w30 I've been using.

I know a lot of you guys think I'm stupid for not switching to synthetic oils and fancy filters. The bottom line though is that I probably care less about my car than you care about yours. My driving style is more about maximizing gas mileage, not performance. This car will probably get handed down to my teenage daughter in a few years and she'll probably total it before she hits 17 (like her older sister did).

I drove my last car 225,000 miles while only changing the oil about once a year during its final years. Granted, the old car wasn't a turbo. I am changing my PT's oil between 3-3.5K miles (about every 6 weeks) which is already more often than Chrysler recommends. Given my driving style and local weather. I can't see how I will amortize the more expensive synthetics and filters.
