Gary,

Great job. It's hard to make out what that battery cover in the engine looks like, but the rest of it is amazing.

All I know is my hot rod mechanic told me in order to create an awesome air intake he had to relocate the battery. He made a box for it and cut a hole in the floor in the rear section and it fit perfectly. That made some nice room for my intake in the engine bay. Now I get rubber in every gear. She screams when I get on it. Having loads of fun with my BOV, that thing is awesome. [8)]

Gary, have you considered getting a turbo upcharge pipe like Adam's or Jim's? If you think she screams in every gear now, you'll see the difference with a UCP!

The Upcharge Pipe is a larger hard pipe from Intercooler to the throttle body. Some debate the merits. [:I] In theory, more air flow to the motor. If nothing else, looks cool & high tech. [8)]

OK, you see the black rubber hose coming up from the intercooler between your nice polished intake manifold and the new cold air intake? Well, AMX1397 and 03baggedturbo (Jim and Adam respectively) make a hard pipe with silicon rubber "connectors." What does this do? The stock hose tends to ballon under high boost levels, so your intake doesn't get all the boost the turbo is producing. With the turbo upcharge pipe, there is no balloning. You will immediately feel alot of lower to mid range grunt, and the jump from 60mph to 100mph is incredible! I have Jim's pipe and it's probably the best thing to do besides Stage 1. Jim's pipe is polished steel, while you can get Adam's in numerous colors and now in 2 different styles. Jim is no longer making his pipe, but may do it if you ask him, as he will do it for certain people. Here are their websites so you can see their products.

Jim: http://members.cox.net/~amx1397/

Adam: http://www.prototypepower.com/

Email me, or call me if you need more info.

PTurbed: I originally brought Jim's UCP mainly for looks and alittle performance gain. What I got was looks and alot of performance gain! I can tell you it is definately worth it!

I thought Jim "stated for the record" that he is not making this product anymore because, after testing at the track, he found there was no additional performance gain--all show but no go --so to speak???. [:I]
