Default FIPK Question

Another question (other than noise) about the FIPK. On the stock intake, the crankcase breather hose goes to intake into the sponge. On the FIPK, the hose goes into the intake tube. Should I put in a catch can? Couldn't the oil gum up the throttle body? Any links to a catch can? [:I]
Thanks.

Hey Don, I just capped the second hose on the cold air intake. I put a breather filter on the manifold and put a catch can setup. Go to this link, http://ww6.dodge-srt4.com/howto/catchcan.html Just replace the 6 with a w in the address. Check out my car on Cardomain for some pics of the setup and install. http://ww6.cardomain.com/id/az_iceman

Thanks, IceMan.
As I was reading, I saw the "replaceable filter" in the parts, then I read on & saw it's better without it!
Can't see any reason not to do it....[:I]

QSD,

Do NOT put the breather line on the FIPK unless you have a catch can installed. It has been my experience that the breather line pukes a lot of oil into the stock airbox, so a catch can is probably a better idea that the breather element suggestion.

A lot of people have been using the $20 air compressor oil/water separator mod as a catch can instead of an expensive catch can (like from Greddy).

If you have emissions testing in your area, you have to keep the breather line connected to the intake instead of an open breather element.
