I took the gt into the dealer today as the trans was slipping worse on the way to work yesterday morning. The service manager said I didn't have to have a CEL for them to check it out. They could monitor the CVI and correct it.After the trans tech checked and test drove a few minutes I was told that the clutches, torque converter and pumps would have to be replaced.I can't understand how some people can build up the turbo and not have any problem with the trans, but a stock one like mine will have trouble. One good thing came out of it though, I learned that if the PT goes into limp in mode where the trans locks in 2nd gear and the engine dies below 10 MPH you can reset the computer to make it home.I will miss my PT, after driving one it's hard to drive anything else and have fun.

Is the warranty going to cover this repair?? How long is it going to be out of service?

Another tranny problem...Just like the post in the tech forum section...Why would anybody want to install Stage 1 or 2 to a PT with an Automatic...when it has proven itself that it cany even last under NORMAL conditions....

I got my PT back in two days! There were a couple of problems though. When the service rep called and said it was ready for pick up I asked was it test driven and was told yes. I drove the car home and it had no power and made a funny sound when giving it gas. When I got home I put it on rhino ramps and found that the lower hose to the innercooler was off!As the tranny was just rebuilt I checked the fluid and it was below the bottom mark for fluid when hot level.Today I will take out the air box to check trans hoses to insure all clamps are tight, just in case. I appreciate a quick turn around from the dealer, but now I wonder what else wasn't done right. There was no charge to replace torque converter, clutches and pumps as I have full coverage warrenty, and stock. With only 28,000 mile on the car I was surprised the trans failed.
