You got a new battery under warranty? Good for you. Coulda just been a defective battery, but you're wise to have charging system checked out.

Don't know where you live, but down in SE Florida the climate is rough on batteries. I had Jeep Grand Cherokees for years and it seems that every two years I needed to replace the batteries. My '03 GT is begining to crank on the weak side with around 23k on the odometer.

Hmm... I got mine in Feb. of 02 - And I have yet to change the battery. Until this summer I was running a 600Watt RMS and 300Watt RMS amps on it.

When I start my car - it's getting to where it kinda lags on the initial start until I rev the engine a bit and go - after that initial bit, it's fine.

Would you say that's a battery problem?

Also - I noticed at some point, when i would put the clutch in and coast (slowing for a traffic light) the engine would rev itself to about 3000-3500 rpms in short bursts (not reving and staying at that point). I don't see how the battery could be the culprit here... maybe the alternator? (at this point i had given away my subs and amps)

A little tip on those so called sealed batterys. If you look close there is usualy a peice of plastic that you can pry off to get to eash cell. I have always every so often checked the water level and if needed added distilled water to the level. Most failures happen because over time the level start to drop on one or two of the celss. A little water will keep the battery lastind longer...
