Spout all of the statistics you like. Street racing puts yourself and others in needless harm's way. This is really getting old. You will never get it. Street racing mentality won't allow it. Hope you don't learn the hard way.

Exactly.....
Spew all the hard numbers and data you can, that does not matter the law is the law and right is right in your mind.....

I can beat a modded lambo...I can't prove it with real world hard data but my car feels faster than a lambo so I can....

In my world we call you a *****.... you lost a bet, a wager, an argument, no data, no numbers, no times, you will not run, its just "I think its wrong".... back it up..... I'm calling you out.....back up your claims.

We do not put others in harms way post some hard numbers, facts if you will....Something other than umm.... I don't race so you are bad....

Sounds like I'm white you are not so you are bad....I can't prove it but its true because you are not like me.....Racist

I can support my hypothosis can you....

FYI

You could drag race to work every day 7 days a week 365 days a year for 137 years safely...by the numbers....

By the way you brought numbers and stats to the party, I am only trying to retort.....

It's about time to quit trying to justify that illegal and irresponsible street racing is okay! [8]

Truth, I hope you live to a ripe old age. Chances are you won't. Last street race I saw some kid put his Ford Focus into the guard rail on the freeway. Of course it was his right to race and hit the guard rail. Luckily he didn't hurt any innocent people. Car was pretty well smashed up, but that's ok, he was just racing and stats say he doesn't have to worry. They take street racing pretty serious around here. Confiscate your car and the cars of people watching if it is setup that way. Insure your car, that's a joke. Got me on your high and mighty list and your loser list to boot. You don't know me. [?]

I understand and acknowledge all the reasons not to street race and for the most part restain myself but sometimes cheap thrills win out. I've been street racing (mostly stop light to stop light) for 45+ years. I like the track too. I do enjoy the posts of how well PT's did against others--it's sort of a web camaraderie of shared experiences. It's OK to get on a soap box when you feel strongly about a subject--but don't forget to step down. JMHO

It has been a long while since I have taken the time to respond to any thread on this forum as they are all a rehash of old topics. But this one has been rather entertaining. VERY ENTERTAINING. So, I will take the time to respond...

First of all, street racing has probably been around as long as there has been a wheel. Grog pulls up next to Blig with his chiseled out customized round thing. Eyeing each other they wait for the appropriate time to push their wheels to the next animal pathway...and thus street racing began.

But in all seriousness, street racing in most areas of the US is illegal (I say most because I do not have the data and/or facts to substantiate using the word "all"; so "most" is as accurate as I am going to get). But it still happens and nothing is going to change it...ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. People will still do things that are against the law or against what is thought to be against the law. It is only when that person injures themselves or others does it really strike home that maybe they should change their thinking process.

Is it wrong? I have my opinions based upon circumstances, ie locations, proximity to traffic, safety of others in the area. Do I do it? No (I respect my property to much and the property of others to much). Do I sometimes take off from a light faster than someone else...yes! Is it considered street racing? Depends upon ones opinion.

Seems to me that there are people on this forum who are very dogmatic in their opinions and beliefs. If this is the case, then those people should attempt to take it off the forum and attempt to do something to cause change in our communities. It is a great deal easier to sit on our butt, behind our monitors and tap away on our keys through these forums, voicing our opinions and beliefs, than it is to get out and affect change in our communities, neighborhoods, and schools.

Let me tell you what happened to me yesterday...

Got a unspected/unwanted challenge with a Grand Cherokee, i was in my way back after taking the wrong route, there was a heavy +75mph traffic when finally there was a gap i took the chance only saw a vehicle approaching from 3/4 a mile more o less, i tracked it from time to time with the mirror then i realized it was a Grand Cherokee and it was never enough close to my tail (i think not less than 400 or 500 feet) to have to flash me with its head lights many times, i though "ok, i know i saw you early take it easy...shees..." however i pulled faster (almost hitting 100mph) to avoid any problem and left him behind for several minutes, it was a two line per way route so i took the right line leaving free the left one... when suddenly the Grand Cherokee was head to head with me, i saw a woman in the passenger seat, some other ppl in the back seats never saw the face of the driver, i didn't pull faster (I was cruising at about 80-85mph) when this guy pulled over 100mph passing me but switching to my line and suddenly tried to slow me down blocking my way (i tried switching lines but he switched too everytime) by then we pulled faster (over 100mph) then i started to zig-zag from behind tounting him i was getting mad, but then i realized that the ppl i saw in the back seat were children and the cherokee was getting very unstable trying to block my way as we zig-zaged at 115 mph... i cut the gas a lil letting him go away i wasn't alone either, my wife was in the passenger seat and a friend in the back seat.. but this guy was a real idiot or enough drunk there was a big puddle ahead in his line he passed over it splashing me (and believe me splashed water over 100mph hits hard or at least sounds hard when hitting)he seemed to lose the control crossing the puddle but thank to god it wasn't that serious, finally the driver and the lady seemed to start arguing so the hostility against me stoped.

I mean what was his problem? never got enough close to argue that i blocked him....may be he was over 110mph and had to slow down just above 80-90mph because me? anyway he was almost 10mph above the speed limit after the slow down...

Or simply couldn't assimilate the idea of "An Aerodynamic School Bus with nice rims" leaving him behind?

But since when a 2001 (or earlier) Grand Cherokee was made for speeding?

Our "Aerodynamic School Buses" being labeled GT are supposed for speeding or at least more than a Grand Cherokee dont you think?

Sorry for the long post and the grammar (as you can see english is not my 1st lang) but i had to spit it...

Greetings
