PROPER INSTALLATION is the "key" to making the WELTS LOOK GOOD [|)] from my experience. [8] One cannot expect to do the job in a "couple of hours" and expect it to "look right". [:0] [B)]

Since starting this thread almost 2 1/2 months ago I have reinstalled some welts, done some cutting modifications on some of the welting, etc., in order to "get it right". [8D] This has taken extra work and time but it has been worth it since the final results look very professional--proper fit, looks good from all angles, securely held in place by friction but in a few applications I used some blue painter's masking tape (cannot be seen) or special glue designed for use with plastics.

After finishing this project (just yesterday) I am now in the process of detailing my car's entire interior using turbomangt's Pefect Auto Finish Ultimate Dressing Professional Grade. When the job is completed the interior will be of "show car quality" and there will be nothing "tacky" about it. [8]

Proper installation and how/where the welting is used on your car are important things to consider. Also, one must remember that sometimes "more is less". Welts may not work for everyone. [B)] However, I have been pleased with the final results on my Cruiser's interior. Welts helped to achieve the desired result--to enhance and bring some color to a rather dull stock interior. [^]

If you like them that is fine....I still say they look tacky. Too many people on this forum always agree with other posts about this and that even when deep down they dont like it. I would rather have some one give me there honest opinion to my face then to say ...They look great...and then shake his head as he walks away. I just thing that more is better up to a point....When the outside or the interior stats to look like a day care center it is too much.....That is my opinion and I hope that you respect it just as I respect your opinion also.

Any modification is one of personal choice. A MOD that looks "good" on car "A" does not necessarily look "good" on car "B". It's strictly one of personal preference and what "look" you are trying to achieve when finished. You are entitled to your opinion and I respect it along with the opinions of all other forum members.

Think we all know what Clint Eastwood said in one of his Dirty Harry movies about opinions.

It should be noted that there are now over 1200 views to this thread which appears to indicate much interest in welts. From speaking to Mr. Mike recently he told me most of the high-level of interest in welts is coming from people who are on the various PT Cruiser forums. From my personal experience, may people from my area PT Cruiser Clubs who see the welting for the first time are amazed at how it greatly enhances a car's interior. They are futher astounded at the low price and feel welting is an outstanding "bang for the buck".

The really nice thing about welts is that if you try them and don't like "the look" [B)] they are easy to remove without any damage to your car. [8D]
