We have had a second matt installed because the heel of our shoe keeps digging in and making a hole. Is there anybody at Chrysler realy knows whats going on.

John-
I feel your pain! I doubt though, without a redesign that puts a rubber patch where the heel of your foot rests all of the time. Look at it this way....at least it ain't your carpet! I may shell out for the rubber mats that protect from mud and water, they may last a little longer. John http://bugdude21.ptenthusiasts.net http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/ptcruisersofsilliconvalley |

Ever since they redesigned the gas pedals (you have to go way back here) from a hinged at the floor to a suspended type, I have worn holes in the floor mats.
To me it's just something that comes with the owning a car. If it really bugs you, try putting a carpet scrap under the throttle where your heal sits. Me, I still miss the "brights" switch under my left foot. |

As for the matts--Glue or velcro a non-slip piece of rubber over the spot where your heel digs a hole. When it is warn out just replace it, not the whole mat. DB aka Basset Hound Pics at: http://members4.clubphoto.com/don284358/ Edited by - Don Bullock on 12/19/2001 22:00:41 |

You can try www.ggbailey.com, they make custom fit floor mats for PT Cruisers with a heelpad option which is an extra thick piece of carpet that goes under the heel. They also have 2 neat PT Cruiser embroidered logo options.
