Default grill change

i have a 2005 cruiser and i have noticed that the 06 and 07 models have changed the grill by eliminating the classic grill under the front bumper. anyone know why this design change?

I believe it's just cosmetics, and the bumber is now more integrated, which may be cheaper to produce.

The front and rear bumper covers have changed, along with the headlights (peak in lower edge) and the taillights (White, not Amber insert). The interior was the big change. All of this was a "facelift" to update the model. This is common practice.

Hello all, I'm new here.
I've wanted a P/T Cruiser for about a year now. When I saw the grill change on the 2006, I thought they lost a lot of the style. Because of this, I went out and found a 2005, low mileage car.
I understand that 2009 will be the last year for this vehicle. I wonder what the replacement will be like.

Personally I like the new front/rear bumpers better, it makes the car flow a lot better than before. Granted - I like both styles - I owned a 2001 Limited for about 3 years, just traded it yesterday on the 2006 Convertible. I like the fact it's all one peice, without the non-color matching front and rear bumpers. (I beleive they started color matching the bumpers in 2003)

Well, the '02 Dream Cruiser in Inca Gold had the first factory colored bumpers. In '03, color matched bumpers were on all but base PTs, now they all come painted.
