Good day all, took delivery of a '06 Touring a couple of weeks ago. Like this site, great info, thanks.
A few Questions - anyone know of any aftermarket consoles offered for a '06 ? The stock console is too low to the floor and the cup holders in front of the shifter (have a manual trans model) are awkward to use. Wondered if anyone might know of a taller more user friendly model to install. If not, considering buying an additional console center storage bin (there are two, one shallow and one deeper). Thought I might mount this on top of the existing one, which would add about 2 inches of height to the console armrest. Also, have seen several threads talking about shift knob being epoxy'd on. How are most replacing these with aftermarket knobs if they are epoxy'd on. Replacements are usually threaded. I saw a note on an adapter for the PT shifter, that offers a threaded shaft - is that the only way ? Thanks and regards to all. Lots of sharp cars here

Welcome Aboard!
Especially nice to see another manual transmission user out there. I found the cupholders on my 02 TE with the 5 speed got more accessible after I put in a Hurst Short-Throw shifter and Booger Bushings. Once changing gears stopped being like rowing the cupholders were more usable. ("Paddle shifter? Yeah, the factory shifter is like paddling a canoe.")
