They should be (it's just a filter not a kit ...but they might call it a kit). They might have done something stupid and changed something in the 06+ models so I can't speak for them.

By the way, some owners just opened up the area and did some measuring and cut a piece of filter material to fit inside thereby saving the price of the bought filter. It's been years since I added mine but it was $15 back then.

Another point. The filter is ONLY used when you have the knob on the dash pointed toward outside air coming in. It doesn't filter recirculated air inside the cabin.

...which brings up an important question:
Is it possible to filter the recirculated air, ...even if by adding something that wasn't designed by Chrysler??

I'm not sure where the air gets sucked back into to be recirculated, but if you find out, maybe you could rig something up so the air flows through some sort of filter.

Okay, I found a TSB for fixing the odor from the A/C vents. This procedure also tells how to access the evaporator. I think I'm going to do it, just so I can see if mine is dirty. Below are parts of the instuctions that would pertain to accessing it to clean it:

1. Open the hood.
2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the silencer pad from under the instrument panel on the right side to gain access to the blower motor.
4. Disconnect the blower motor wire harness connector and remove the blower motor.
5. Inspect and remove any leaves and debris.
6. If necessary, use a shop vacuum to clean the cooling coil.

To remove blower motor:
There are three screws holding it in all located on the front (if you were looking at it from the inside of the car). Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (17 in.lbs.) .

The Car Talk Guys on National Public Radio had an easier fix. Close doors and windows and with car running open vents and crank on air from outside. Using an anti-bacteria spray (Lysol) spray into the outside air intakes to get ride of the mold smell and kill the bacteria causing the smell. If you have an inside cabin filter change the outside air setting at this point to run the Lysol through the Cabin filter. Be generous. It has been working for me for 5 years since I heard them talking about it.

Yes, that does work to get rid of smell (I do the same). What I was referring to is checking the evaporator core for dog hair, dirt, etc. Things that clog it up. There have been several posts on this thread wanting to figure out how to check it for blockage.

I thought I put in my message I was listing the parts of the instructions for getting rid of the smell that would apply to getting to the evap. to check it for debris.
